Almaty BirdFest 2026 — Outdoor Nature Festival near Almaty
Date: 4-6 September 2026 Location: Ili River Valley, Konaev
An annual outdoor festival for birdwatchers, naturalists, and wildlife photographers — two days in the wild along the Ili River, 35 km from Konaev.
Guided nature walks, lectures, workshops, ornithological competitions, and talks with zoologists and botanists from across Kazakhstan and Central Asia. Open to beginners and experienced naturalists alike.
The festival opens officially on September 5 at 11:00 and closes September 6 at 16:00. Early arrivals welcome from the evening of September 4.
Camping on site (bring your own tent). Hot food and drinks available. Paid transfer from Almaty on September 4 (16:00) and September 5 (07:30). Limited to 200 participants.
